Kestrel warming

Standing at the door of Loch Cottage a female Kestrel suddenly flew in and onto the roof of the cottage! The temperatures are about -4 and lower, so no doubt it was trying to get some warmth from the sun, out of the wind. A rare chance for such a close up picture.

Friends are friends forever . . .

In the words of a Michael W. Smith song: "And friends are friends forever, If the Lord's the Lord of them. And a friend will not say never, cause the welcome will not end".
Yesterday we had the opportunity to visit and spend quality time with our close and very special friends Peter and Sharon and their seven children (and other close friends that came around while we were there).
Even after us moving away from the location over 16 years ago and it being many years of not seeing each other it was as though we hadn't been apart in terms of the welcome, warmth and depth of friendship that still exists. A reflection of the nature of true friendship and being part of the same family in Christ. Something very special.

Look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. (John 4.35)

Family Holiday near the Lake District

Had a great week in Arnside, Lancashire. Had some opportunities to get into the Lake District itself to do some mountain walking, including the Old Man Coniston on the last day of the holiday with unusually fantastic weather - could see for miles from the top, as the photos indicate.
