Loch Morlich was completely frozen with temperatures around -7degC when taking the photo
Standing at the door of Loch Cottage a female Kestrel suddenly flew in and onto the roof of the cottage! The temperatures are about -4 and lower, so no doubt it was trying to get some warmth from the sun, out of the wind. A rare chance for such a close up picture.
The amazing view from the doorway of the cottage where we are staying.
Looking north west towards Scafell Pikes
Looking south towards Old Man Coniston (furthest peak on the right in the background)
Looking back towards Arnside.
Taken in the first sunshine seen since arriving. Looking towards the Lake District.
